Churches gear up for Life ’26 nationwide mission

Churches across the country are preparing for a focused period of evangelism. Life ’26 is a nationwide gospel mission, starting in March, where church fellowships will share the gospel with their communities. A Passion for Life (APFL) oversees the mission. This year, the theme is a question: “Ever feel like something’s missing?”

Alex Hillman, APFL’s Communications and Operations Lead, told en: “Over 250 churches, from Thurso in the North of Scotland to St Helier in Jersey, will be joining together to share the gospel with friends, family, neighbours and people in their communities, under a common banner [and] with a shared mission campaign identity.”

The focused period of evangelism will run during the weeks preceding Easter Sunday. And, as March steadily approaches, en heard how churches are preparing.

Churches get ready for Life ‘26

Lansdowne Baptist Church in Bournemouth is studying Titus in its small groups, with an application focus on gospel sharing. It plans to run Hope Explored and Christianity Explored courses in the spring.

Much further north, in Edinburgh, Carrubbers Church plans to participate in Life ’26 by leaning into its existing programmes, as opposed to creating entirely new initiatives; in March, the church will pause its “normal” sermon series, and instead focus on the topic of “Find the … you’re looking for,” in line with the Life ’26 theme. APFL resources, offered to aid churches participating in the nationwide mission, will be used, including a survey detailing the top things people say are missing from their lives.

“It’s really encouraging to hear what churches are planning for the Life ‘26 mission,” Hillman continued. “There are [a] range of ways we can engage with our communities, whether through putting on events, or by using the services and groups that we already have. [We] trust in the Lord’s providence that [people] will connect with churches all across the UK and Ireland and hear the good news of our Lord Jesus. It’s not too late to connect your church and join the mission!”
