The International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES) has paid tribute to Douglas Stewart, who has died.
“We are profoundly grateful for his many years of faithful service in IFES and its national movements,” they said, describing Stewart as having “dedicated his life to serving in student ministry”.
Stewart (pictured with his wife Marilyn) was involved with the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship in the USA. He served in Latin America, where he lived for 25 years; during this time, he led COMPA (Compañerismo Estudiantil AC) – the national movement in Mexico – and then became IFES Associate Regional Secretary for Latin America.
