In your tragic front page report (en July) of the Dutch teenager who was allowed to die as a ‘result of self-induced starvation’, the article concludes that ‘…Noa needed help, not ‘non-interventions’ when she had no hope’.
Although the UK does not allow euthanasia, there are nevertheless many young people who also feel unwanted, unloved and that nobody cares about them.
I just wonder how many of these youngsters have heard about Jesus and have they ever seen the love of God in action? Many that I have spoken to have not, and the days are long gone when they had a Christian voice speaking up for them. Lord Shaftesbury, Dr Barnardo, C H Spurgeon, George Muller, The Revd Stephenson, all come to mind. There is no-one now.
Read of the work of Barnardo, etc and you will see how important it was for them to bring the gospel to people like Noa and the many children and teenagers now who never hear the word and continue on the road that Satan has prepared.
The question is, where is the church when we have so many around us falling by the wayside, who feel that no-one cares about them or bothers to listen to them.
