Kevin and Krista Rideout: "“Throughout this experience, we have held closely to the promise of Scripture." Source: SIM
An American missionary has been released after more than nine months in captivity in Niger.
Kevin Rideout was kidnapped from outside his home in Niamey, Niger, in October 2025. Serving In Mission (SIM) International have now confirmed his release, describing him as being in good health in the care of United States officials.
Rideout was subsequently reunited with his family. He and his wife, Krista, issued a statement in which they thanked the United States Government and those who worked “tirelessly” for Kevin’s safe release, and SIM for its care and support.
