A Biblically orthodox Anglican movement has continued to grow since its launch, planting, on average, more than one church every month.

The Anglican Network in Europe (ANiE) was founded in 2020 with 30 congregations, but now has more than 120, according to official data from its dioceses. It’s “a move that has held steady enough to become something of a talking point,” says evangelical bishop Josep Rosselló.

ANiE was formed to serve Anglicans across continental Europe “who felt increasingly at odds with the more liberal direction taken by parts of the wider Anglican Communion, including the Church of England”, Rosselló explains. ANiE is not part of the Church of England, but is instead supported by Gafcon – an alliance of conservative Bible-based Anglicans.
