Two major Christian publishing companies are coming under one umbrella to become "the world’s leading independent Christian publisher of theology, Biblical studies, and Christian trade books", according to a joint announcement.
The Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge (SPCK Group), a London-based company founded in 1698, has acquired Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co., a family business based in Michigan.
The publishers, with a joint backlist of more than 5,000 titles, will each retain their own brand, imprints, and staff.
