Nearly a third of UK evangelicals say they began attending Sunday services for the first time in the past one or two years, according to a major new piece of research.
The surprising findings come in the new UK State of Theology Survey which was organised by Reformed evangelical organisation Ligonier Ministries UK, in conjunction with Whitestone Insight, a specialist consultancy.
The report reveals that the background of these new churchgoers is most likely to be a younger adult aged 25-44, male, and from an ethnic minority.
