CHURCH PODMATICS PODCAST

Church Podmatics describes itself as a cheerful conversation about theology in a cheerless age. In each episode they take a new or significant essay in theology and think it through from the perspective of Christian faith and ministry.

The hosts come from across the nations: The Revd Dr Andrew Errington – Rector of Newtown-Erskineville Anglican Church in Sydney. Matthew Mason – Tutor in Christian Ethics at the Pastors’ Academy, Chaplain at Moorlands College and Theologian-in-Residence at Evangelicals Now. The Revd Dr Matt Wilcoxen – Rector at St John’s Darlinghurst in Sydney.

The episode I listened to was a discussion on infant baptism and whether there is an argument for baptismal regeneration (Season One, episode 10).

The podcast seems to take the form of reviewing articles submitted in the Christian community/academia. The podcast is quite clearly theological in nature and may not be suitable for newer or less-mature Christians.

The language used by the hosts will, unfortunately, go over many layman-believer’s heads. The conversation was interesting, and each host gave their opinion on the topic and asked questions of each other. As a theology buff, I found the discussion and subtle debating stimulating.

For those interested in theology and theological discussion, this podcast would be an interesting listen. However, I would stress the necessity of reading or at least being familiar with the article(s) being discussed.
