Christian footballer Quévin Castro has died at the age of 25.

The midfielder reportedly collapsed during a friendly match in Portugal. The Instagram page “Ballers in God” paid tribute to Castro, detailing that the young athlete had joined its “Pro” meetings, “gathering alongside other professional footballers around a shared faith in Jesus.”

A social media video of Castro shows him reading from 1 John 4v7-8. “Love is something so beautiful that we’re all able to feel,” he says. “So many different forms of love, and God instilled that love within us… Choose to love everyone… I pray that everyone feels that love that God gave to all of us.”
