News in Brief

  • Unsafe clinics

    The Christian Institute

The government admitted in March that almost 60% of abortion clinics are currently rated as ‘requires improvement’.

UK abortion facilities have been routinely criticised by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for putting women at risk. Concerns were raised about the leadership, safety and infection risk at various BPAS centres. More on abortion on page 7.

  • Sex not gender

    The Christian Institute

A woman who claims to be ‘non-gendered’ lost her appeal to force the government to issue gender-neutral passports, it was reported in early March.

The Passport Office did not permit her to use an ‘X’ on her passport instead of an ‘F’. The Court of Appeal upheld an earlier ruling.
