News in Brief

  • Read more books

    The Good Book Company

A campaign was launched in June encouraging Christians to read more books. We skim news headlines, we scroll social media feeds, we study product reviews. We’re reading all the time. But we are not reading deeply things that will cause us to think.

Details on the Renew Your Mind online short film and its accompanying book can be found at thegoodbook.co.uk/renew

  • Co-op calamity blacklist

    The Christian Institute

Women’s rights campaigners who reject transgender ideology were placed on the Co-operative Bank’s banned list, alongside an individual with links to an ‘oppressive overseas regime’, it was reported in June.

The unnamed feminist organisation was declined banking services because it had views at odds with Co-op policies on diversity and inclusion. Women’s rights campaigner Venice Allan said it was ‘highly inappropriate’ for the bank to penalise organisations for ‘sticking to the correct definition of a woman’.
