Three pastors were among those killed on December 5 in violence in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic.
Another pastor is on the run with his family after he learnt that the rebels were looking for him. He is from a Muslim background and went into hiding after the rebels burnt his home and that of relatives living close by.

Church members, lawyers and Christians visiting the family of detained Protestant pastor Zhang Shaojie were beaten, harassed and detained by ‘hired thugs’, police and government agencies on December 23 and 24.
One pastor was dragged from his car by local police, who beat him. He was then taken to a police station where he had pepper spray sprayed into his eyes. Others were physically attacked when they tried to leave the house of the detainee.
