In Lois McCrea’s article discussing the problems working mums face there was one very notable omission. The husband and his contribution to running family life was not mentioned once.
Single parents do have particular problems to which the church fellowship should have special regard but, apart from breast feeding, there is not a single job in the home that a husband cannot participate in helping and achieving. Eve was created as a “helpmeet” for Adam (Gen. 2:18), but the helping is surely a mutual position, one toward the other. In a day when both partners are at work then the domestic work must also be for both partners.
