The Quinta Christian Centre, Shropshire, has received planning permission to build an “Activity Barn” – the “largest development project in its 40-year history”.
The barn’s “main arena” would be a 50m by 30m indoor space suitable for a variety of events and activities. Alongside this arena, there would be a two-storey section: an open-plan kitchen area and toilets downstairs, and a meeting room and several breakout rooms upstairs.

The estimated cost of the initial build is £500,000. Half of this (£250,000) has already been pledged by two strategic partners. The Centre has now launched its “Quinta Barn and Development Appeal” to raise the remaining funds.
Andrew McKay, Quinta’s Centre Manager, told en: “Rather than running its own programmes, Quinta sees its role as enabling the ministry of the churches, youth groups, schools and Christian organisations that use the site… The new development will directly support that mission by providing modern, flexible and accessible facilities that can be used throughout the year, regardless of weather conditions.”
The Centre also hopes to invest in upgrading its accommodation, improving accessibility across the site and replacing ageing activity equipment. “The new Activity Barn and wider improvements are not about expansion for profit, but about strengthening the ministry Quinta already provides,” McKay said.
