Crystal Palace player Marc Guehi sported Scriptural boots when he turned out to play in the FA Community Shield against Liverpool.

Each boot was inscribed with a Bible verse, namely, Isaiah 54v17 and Exodus 14v14.

Isaiah 54v17 says: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper”, and Exodus 14:14 proclaims: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Crystal Palace won 3-2. It was the first time they won the Shield.
