September is a month of new beginnings for many of our children. The summer holidays have just ended in mid August if you live in Scotland, while England and Wales return to school life in the first days of September.

If you want to find some interesting books for your curious kids, here’s a varied selection.

  • The Big Book of Bible Science.
There are two volumes to this set. The author takes several key scientific facts such as gravity, electricity, the nervous system, muscles, friction, combustion and other fascinating topics. Volume 2 goes deeper into Potential & Kinetic Energy, the Mechanical Advantage of a Lever, Condensation and the Symmetry of Nature, amongst other things. Each chapter has a corresponding verse and Biblical lesson to apply the science to the real world. Bonus extension activities give curious minds an opportunity to go further (ISBN 978 1 781 917 459 and 978 1 527 104 754).
