I would like to introduce you to three people.

First, Khaled Kabub. Born in Jaffa, near Tel Aviv, to Muslim parents, Khaled was the son of a bus driver. After studying at Tel Aviv University, he went on to receive a Master’s degree in law through Tel Aviv University and the University of California. Today, as a Muslim citizen of Israel, he serves as a justice on the Supreme Court of Israel.

Next, let me introduce Lieutenant Colonel Ihab Shlian, who has been among the highest-ranking Aramean Christians serving in the Israel Defence Forces. He is not Jewish, but an Aramean Christian, and is one of many Christians serving alongside Jewish, Arab and other Israeli servicemen and women. In 2021, he said: “We Christians are at the forefront of the defence of Israel together with our Jewish siblings. For us too, there is no other country.”
