What does it mean to make a difference to people’s lives? To have "an impact"?
We know that deep discipleship, journeying alongside someone, teaching and pastoring, changes lives. But we also serve a God who transformed lives with a word, a touch, a moment.
In our celebrity-revering culture, many mere mortals hold a very different sort of power – and have the ability to impact lives in seconds. Netflix’s latest episode of Untold (a series of sports documentaries) is titled Mr T: I Pity the Fool. There can be no question that Mr T is memorable. Actor Terry Crews is clear: "I’ll never forget the moment I saw Mr T." That distinctive mohawk, the array of golden chains, bracelets and earrings ensured he was certainly memorable, even when seen through a screen.
