As the sun sets on Goodison Park, a stadium that has been a cornerstone of football history for over a century, Everton Football Club prepares to bid farewell to its hallowed ground.

This marks not simply the end of an era but a transition into new beginnings for a club that has been deeply intertwined with the community since its founding in 1878.

Goodison Park: a sanctuary for Evertonians

Originally named St. Domingo's by its founder - the Methodist minister Ben Swift Chambers - the club's evolution into Everton came with its relocation to Goodison Road. This shift fostered an enduring and vibrant community identity centred around football.
