The book is a timely reminder that, in an era where identities can be confused, we can be assured of our position in Christ.

The chapters cover a number of areas, including the fact that we are free as we are: rescued by grace; made in God’s image; beloved by God; and redeemed by Jesus.

Each chapter commences with a quote, from a Puritan (such as Thomas Watson) or a more contemporary writer (such as J.I. Packer). There is a pattern in each chapter whereby the contributor considers: identity theft, where Satan uses our culture to deprive us of our security in Christ; identity truth, when we are drawn back to the truths of the gospel; and identity transformation, when we are encouraged to be changed by God.

There is a section for group discussion at the end of each chapter. The questions are thought-provoking and are suitable for personal consideration. The questions arise out of Bible passages and ensure that one applies the contents to our lives.

The whole book is soaked with Scripture and, indeed, there is a memory verse to learn in each chapter so that we can continue to think biblically on the issues raised.
