The daughter of a Hamas founder and former wife of a Hamas member has spoken about how she became a Christian after seeing Jesus in a dream.
Juman Al Qawasmi was born and raised in Qatar. In a recent interview, she said her parents raised their children to hate Israel, Jews, Christians – “everyone who does not belong to Hamas”.
She lived in Gaza with her husband for 13 years, but by 2012 Juman began to question what Hamas was doing when they took control of Gaza; and also realised something was wrong with Islam. She tells how she had never been satisfied with God and felt like he would never be happy in her. “Islam does not give you peace,” she said.
Juman began to pray every day, then one day in 2014 the IDF warned her [now] ex-husband and neighbours that it wanted to bomb their home. She explained: “It was so scary … I said: ‘God if you exist, please I want to know you. I want to call on your name. I want you to save me’.”
She said that night, in a dream, she “saw Jesus’ face coming out of the moon and he was speaking to me in Arabic and he said: ‘I’m Yeshua, the God Jesus’ and he was saying: ‘You are my daughter, don’t be afraid’.”
Juman said she felt peace inside my heart: “It’s like for the first time I feel like someone loves me.” She googled ‘Yeshua’ and found a Christian page; and the first verse that came up was “Love your enemies.” She began to read the Bible and became a Christian.
Juman ended her interview saying: “Jesus loves the Muslims. He loves us so much. He wants us to be free of this fear. He wants to set us free. We don’t have to be afraid anymore. We should just put our eyes on Jesus and believe He is the Way. He’s the only Way.”
