The South West Men’s Convention has taken place once again in St Michael’s Centre, Stoke Gifford, near Bristol.

Around 450 gathered on 3 October to hear speaker Tim Chester, lecturer in historical and spiritual formation for Crosslands Training.

The overarching title of the day was “Abide”, and the talks and seminars tackled the big question of how, in an ever-changing and fast-paced world, Christian men can abide in Christ, and know they are connected to Him every day. Chapter 15 of John’s Gospel was the base text of the three talks, with John 15v4 a key focus: “Remain in me, as I also remain in you”. The point was made that though it might feel as though Christ is absent from us, He is not: He permanently dwells with us by His Spirit. If anything, the issue is our absence!
