Biblical Counselling UK (BCUK) has raised over a quarter of a million pounds towards its endeavour to 'Get Church Talking.'
The campaign has been described as BCUK’s “most ambitious” to date – with the goal to fuel the next five years of growth by raising £500,000 in one-off gifts, and doubling its number of regular donors.
BCUK aims to “equip churches for conversation and counsel” hence the 'Get Church Talking' name of the campaign.
BCUK intends to dedicate £65,000 per year to cover the costs of a senior ministry staff member devoted to resourcing and refreshing pastors, and £129,000 to develop four new courses (BCUK currently offers a range of training). Further income will reportedly be used to fund 20 interns to help grow wise pastoral care in local churches (£70,000), and produce accessible books, devotions, videos, and more – to equip churches to care well (£80,000).
Tarita Smallwood, BCUK Director of Finance and Operations, wrote: “We feel very humbled by the Lord’s kind provision of more than half the one-off donations needed to progress these four significant projects.”
