Affinity event is  ‘lively and robust’

The biennial Theological Study Conference of evangelical umbrella group Affinity featured “lively and robust” small group discussions.

This year’s theme, Great God of Wonders, focused on the doctrine of God – sometimes called “Theology Proper” – exploring the nature and attributes of the Lord we worship.

Speakers were Mostyn Roberts (pictured), Bob Letham, Tom Brand, Steve Duby, and Michael McClenahan. A major focus of the conference was Classical Theism, which teaches that God is “simple” (not made up of parts), immutable (unchanging), and impassible (not subject to suffering or emotional fluctuation). There was also significant discussion about the place of the Nicene Creed – 1,700 years old this year.
