Record numbers of young people and adult volunteers are coming together to run seven, week-long, residential camps called Sports Plus, across five locations in the UK.
Over 40% of young people in the UK play sport every day and Christians in Sport longs to reach this vast people group with the good news of Jesus, with Sports Plus playing a vital role.
Ian Lancaster, head of Sports Plus, said: ‘We’re excited this summer to welcome over 850 young people to Sports Plus, served by around 400 leaders – with over 150 of these being 18–21 year olds serving on our trainee scheme. We’re grateful to God for these record numbers as we seek to bring the good news of Jesus in the context of “serious sports action for the serious sporty young person”.’
