An evangelical congregational church in West Yorkshire is offering two different kinds of bread to its neighbourhood – the Bread of Life, and ordinary bread as well!
Each week Morley Community Church receives (free of charge) supplies of bread, confectionery, vegetables, fruit and innumerable packets of food of all descriptions. Pictured here is Ray Baker with some of the provisions.
This small church of 20 people is located in a white working-class industrial town and uses the items to help people in need. Needy families struggling with unemployment, low income and other issues are supplied with free food. Church members also find that it establishes ongoing relationships and friendships with people.
There is also enough food to help struggling members of their own congregation. In addition, it eases pressure on their own personal budgets enabling them to be more generous in their financial giving to the Lord’s work.
Morley Community Church is a mission congregation of the Evangelical Fellowship of Congregational Churches.
