G’day UK!

Colin Buchanan

14 June in London, saw the start of a ten date UK concert tour by that most entertaining and gifted song writer and performer, Colin Buchanan.

With bursts of streamers pouring over the crowd, aged a few weeks old to ‘grandpa’s age’, Colin’s set was filled with exuberance and biblical truths from start to confetti-showered end. Although a cliché, there are no words to describe the joy this Dublin-born Australian communicates in his songs about Jesus, the Bible and the greatness of the creator God. Colin somehow manages, while performing, to move the focus away from himself and the bucketload of character he has, to clearly point to Jesus as Saviour and Lord.

Cracking lines

The new tracks included in this tour contain cracking lines, such as: Well, the Bible’s not the Internet with buttons you can press, clicking on the bits you like and flicking all the rest. Front to back, bottom to top every word is a word from God. Holy Spirit’s inspiration, Genesis to Revelation.’

Or for our relativistic society:

Truth is still true even if they don’t believe it. God’s still God, and Christ is King, one day everybody’s going to bow to him.

Real understanding

On salvation, his ‘Boss of the Cross’, followed by some personal words on death being ‘smashed to bits’ by Jesus (sleeve notes include Bible verses after the songs), shows the real understanding of the Bible’s whole story that’s needed to communicate this truth well to children.

With a queue of fans – and their children – at the end of the show, Colin took time to speak to each family, not just signing CDs and posing for pictures, but really speaking to people. If you missed out this year on the tour, get on his mailing list for the next one.
