Scripture Union Scotland Youth Bible Studies

Designed around short videos made by the Solas Centre for Public Christianity, Q&A explores common questions about Christianity and provokes discussion on issues which can be barriers to faith.
The vision of Scripture Union Scotland (SU) is clear: ‘To see every child and young person in Scotland exploring the Bible and responding to the significance of Jesus’.
This new resource is aimed at youth to explore 12 questions about faith and the world. There are questions like: ‘What happens when I die?’ and ‘Is religion the cause of most wars?’.
Each question comes in two formats: Explorers and Go Deeper. Each format shares a video, but the content in the two ‘levels’ differ. The Go Deeper option includes discussion questions that suggest an existing basic understanding of Christianity.
The link in the worksheet takes you to a video on the main Solas website. The video is short (only around four minutes) and, instead of looking at Christianity religiously or philosophically, Solas want to explore the life of Jesus as an event that really happened (because it did!).
The videos are easy to listen to and understand. I’m not sure of the target age for these questions and videos. However, based on the videos, I would place them as suitable for 13+.
We live in a world that appears to be attempting to pull our children away from Biblical ethics and morality. However, here, SU has created a Bible study that is using pithy videos and well-written worksheets to help teach our young people that there is a different, better way.
