MINISTRY ISSUES
By Gordon W. Kuhrt
Church House Publishing. 316 pages. £12.95
ISBN 0 7151 8122 X

Ministry Issues is a series of snapshots of various aspects of ministry in the Church of England today.

Written and edited by Gordon Kuhrt and including contributions from many experts in their various fields in its 43 chapters, this book is a manual for those who need to get a grasp of the current practice and future development of the range of matters that could be grouped under the heading of ministry. Many people who are actively involved in church life at a local level or even in a wider context would have a very limited knowledge of such things, and this book is intended to be a map, offering some guidance through the maze, and pointers to where further information can be found. It is amazingly comprehensive, with a chapter on 'Deaf people and disability issues', one on 'Care of non-recommended candidates', one on 'Clergy conditions of service' and one on 'Local ministry and ordained local ministry'.
