Giles Coghlan

Birmingham City Mission (BCM) says Giles Coghlan is to be its new CEO. He will take over from Wes Erpen who is to retire after around 50 years’ service with BCM – 30 years as CEO.

Giles is a former city missionary with BCM and has maintained contact ever since. In the last few years, he has worked as a financial markets analyst and is actively involved with his local church, Grace Community Church, Tipton.

He said: “BCM has played a deeply significant role in my life and ministry, and it is a privilege to return in this capacity. My desire is to serve the Mission faithfully, support those already carrying out this important work, and help ensure that the gospel continues to be proclaimed clearly across Birmingham for many years to come.

“I’m grateful for the trust the Board has placed in me, and look forward to serving alongside staff, volunteers, churches, and supporters in the next season of the Mission’s life.”
