‘He is for you’: a blessing out of tune?

Dave Brennan analyses the popular Christian song, ‘The UK Blessing’.

A synthesiser from one side of the country starts, a piano from another part of the country enters, a message fades into view: ‘Churches from around the UK have come together to sing a blessing over the nation.’ And then amazing vocalists (all on Zoom) representing the likes of ‘Catholic Charismatic’, England and Vineyard Northern Ireland begin:

The Lord bless you and keep you Make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you The Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace As we receive, we agree, amen
