YouVersion partnered with OneHope to develop the Bible App for Kids, designing it specifically to engage children with Bible stories at an age-appropriate level.
Whether we knew it or not, if you have downloaded a Bible app, you’ve probably downloaded the adults’ YouVersion Bible app at one time or another. YouVersion have now developed this kids’ Bible app.
I’m not a kid (my wife may disagree), but I thought I would take a look at the app.
This app is not the full Bible, but shares 41 ‘big’ Bible stories in a way that will engage children. Games and interaction are included with the app.
This is a huge resource for parents. Not only is the animated and interactive story available to them, but there are also a number of resources for each of the 41 stories. And included are colouring sheets, adventure books, and parent guides for all of the stories.
I downloaded the parent guide for the first story, ‘In the Beginning’. I have a very limited background in children’s ministry, but could tell that this resource would be an asset to parents who are not sure how to engage their children with the Bible in a way that will be age-appropriate and fun for them. The guide includes a memory verse and a prayer to God.
I do hope that YouVersion will expand this app to more ‘big’ and maybe even to some ‘smaller’ Bible stories.
