Ebbsfleet conference

On 27 June, around 150 believers met at the Eastgate Centre, Ebbsfleet, Kent, to be equipped ‘to serve in a secular culture’.

The conference, arranged by Hope Church, Gravesend, was in partnership with the Association of Grace Baptist Churches (SE).

Dan Strange (Academic Vice-Principal of Oak Hill College) gave two talks on the need both to confront and to connect with our culture. He diagnosed the UK spiritually and then showed the need to be both ‘Jenga’ people and ‘Lego’ people – poking holes on wrong thinking and building right thinking.

The third session was taken by John Stevens, who explained that good theology is needed when sharing the gospel.

The day was helpfully arranged to meet the needs of the whole family, with DayOne Youth Ministries running a programme for primary age children, alongside facilities for pre-school children.

Next year’s conference will be on 9 July. www.equipped317.org
