Financial times

Unlike other authors, John does not stop there, but proceeds to carefully consider the Christian’s biblical attitude towards mortgages, green spending, building up treasure in heaven, insurance, savings, pensions and making a will.

Often discipleship training on the subject of ‘money’ is considered either a low priority or something to teach or learn when there is a crisis. That is why I am convinced that now is the time to share this short book as a ‘must read’ for every Christian because we all receive and spend money.

John Preston helpfully leads us through five principles which are both biblical and practical. He begins by reminding us that everything we have belongs to God – a fact which fallen human nature needs to be reminded of each day. Next, he tackles basic survival tactics like knowing what you receive and spend each week or month, budgeting for the unexpected and living within your resources. These principles hold true for everyone (whether a Christian or not yet), regardless of the amount of their income and expenditure.
