Peter Parkinson was called to ministry as a young man. He took up his first senior pastorate at Harehills Lane Baptist Church, Leeds in 1968 and the church grew massively under his care. In 1972 he left to form Leeds Reformed Baptist Church (LRBC), now Emmanuel Baptist Church, and Peter pastored there until his retirement from pastoral ministry in 2005.
