Eight years of pain in the Church of England

Dear Editor,

Having learnt that the Church of England has effectively suspended the “Living in Love and Faith” (LLF) ideology project, I am greatly relieved. The church’s legal and theological advice given confirmed that “bespoke services” using the Prayers of Love and Faith would require a two-thirds vote in favour from each of the three houses of Synod as it would be a change in the doctrine of marriage, which many of us knew all along. The shocking thing to me is that it has been revealed that this has been known since 2017.

Why were Justin Welby and his cronies silent on this? That’s eight years of false hopes for the liberal/“progressive” element of the church and eight years of pain and struggle to remain in the church for the Biblically orthodox members.
