The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) has published recommendations on how it can improve its leadership practices following an internal review into whistleblower allegations reported by the Christian Council of Korea (CCK).

As reported by en in June, an anonymous whistleblower raised concerns regarding moral character, accountability and governance in the WEA’s leadership. The organisation said in a recent statement that while they remained “cautious about acting on anonymous and unverifiable sources”, they determined that an internal review into the allegations was the best course of action “in the interest of transparency, accountability and self-examination”.

The report, carried out by a Commission of Internal Inquiry (CII) which did not feature any individuals facing accusations, “found no substantiated evidence” of wrongdoing, but made several recommendations for reform to “strengthen governance and build confidence across the WEA global network”.
