At least two Christians are being attacked every day in India, representing a continuing increase in persecution against believers, according to statistics.
The latest figures, released by watchdog United Christian Forum (UCF), based in New Delhi, reveal that 313 attacks were reported between January and May on a toll-free helpline, and the figure could be higher if other attacks have gone unreported.
The latest figures reflect a concerning upward trend in hostility towards Christians in the country, infamous for its anti-conversion laws, with 834 incidents reported throughout the entirety of last year, which continued a year-on-year increase, with 734 reported in 2023 and 601 in 2022, according to Premier Christian News.
