400 women gather

The Norfolk Gospel Partnership Women’s Conference 2026 saw 400 women from across the region gather together for a day of worship, inspirational Bible teaching and encouragement.

Women from more than 75 different churches attended and this year’s theme was “Greater – running the race because of Jesus”. The speaker was Lizzy Smallwood.

Henry VIII surprise

The musical “Six” – about the wives of Henry VIII – has cast a transgender comedian Dylan Mulvaney as part of its “all-female” cast.

Mulvaney, a man who identifies as a woman, has been cast as Anne Boleyn, and described his casting as “a miracle”.

Weakening abortion law

A bill to dismantle the three-day reflection period before having an abortion has been launched in the Irish Parliament, the Dáil.

Ruth Coppinger TD, the main sponsor of the Health (Regulation of Termination of Pregnancy) (Amendment) Bill 2026, complained that no such rules existed “for other procedures”.
