Ministry Wives’ Retreat

More than 70 women, from across the country, have gathered for the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches’ (FIEC’s) annual Ministry Wives’ Retreat at The Hayes Conference Centre in Swanwick.

The gathering seeks to refresh, strengthen and equip women married to men in ministry – through Bible teaching, small group discussion, and plenty of free time together.

One of the attendees, Rachel Percival, said: “The beautiful Derbyshire countryside was the perfect backdrop for time to relax with a book, a drink, or a walk with a friend.”

FIEC Director for Women’s Ministry, Elinor Magowan, said: “This retreat is one of the ways we seek to ensure that ministry wives are strengthened in their faith and know that their labour for the Lord, whether seen or unseen by others, is seen by the Lord and is not for nothing.”

Church Support Fellowship

A group of ministers who share a deep concern for the spiritual health of reformed churches in the UK is pioneering a support ministry for causes in need of help and encouragement.

Church Support Fellowship (CSF) says it has been able to help several churches to rediscover hope and “strengthen the things that remain” (Rev. 3v2).

“For some of them, nobody’s taken an interest in the past,” CSF Chairman Malcolm Watts said of the churches the group is supporting, noting that the Fellowship’s first recourse when approached is to pray, show love, and remind congregations of the promises of God. www.churchsupport.org.uk

Tyndale Fellowship

The Tyndale Fellowship was established in 1944 for the purpose of promoting evangelical Christianity. This purpose remains true today and bears out most tangibly in its popular annual summer meetings.

Gathering evangelical researchers, professors, writers and ministers from around the world, this year’s meeting in early July had 170 attendees from as far as Australia and Brazil, India and Japan, as well as Europe and the USA, meeting to pursue excellence and encouragement in scholarship together.
