Keep it simple, Scripturally

THE BIBLE IN LIFE PODCAST
www.johnwhittaker.net/podcast

The website says that John Whittaker (pictured) ‘keeps it simple’ in this podcast. He walks through a passage of the Bible and then reflects on how you can live it out.

Whittaker is a preacher, teacher, and pastor with extensive theological education and over 30 years of ministry experience, including roles as a professor and church planter. Most recently, he served for nearly four years as one of the teaching and campus pastors at The Pursuit, in Boise, Idaho, USA.

The tagline for the podcast pretty much sums it up – it will help you learn and live the Bible! The Bible in Life podcast tries to make the Bible more relevant in everyday life. Each episode explores a specific passage of Scripture, investigating its meaning and practical application. Whittaker provides easy, reflective discussions that help listeners apply Bible principles in real-world circumstances. The podcast discusses spiritual growth, discipleship, and developing a Christlike character, making it suitable for both new and experienced believers. It offers significant insights for anyone looking to expand their understanding of the Bible.

Whittaker’s approach is friendly with a tone of authority. Not of his own, but out of reverence for, and conveying the authority of, Scripture. I listened to episode 313, ‘Goodness and Gratitude’. Whittaker opens the word and helps to point out why we owe gratitude to God through what He has done for us; and for God’s general goodness.

I found the podcast uplifting. It was only 13 minutes long, so easy to listen to on the way to work or during a tea break.

If you’re looking for a bite-sized reflection on Biblical truths, The Bible in Life is a great option!
