RE:QUEST

RE:QUEST describes itself as a space for resources to help RE teachers and their students explore the Christian faith. In a world where the space for public sector workers to share their faith is ever decreasing, RE:QUEST are championing RE (religious education) teachers to share and explore the Christian faith with their students.
I was blessed enough in secondary school to have a RE teacher who was also a lay preacher. Every lesson he would find an opportunity, even when talking about other faiths, to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Mr Williams was his name and I attribute my first musings about faith and Christianity to his boldness in the classroom.
RE:QUEST is essentially a resource for RE teachers on how to teach Christianity in schools in the UK – the site has separate resources for England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. The resources range from KS1 all the way to A-Level. The depth of resources is truly staggering. A lot of thought and care has gone into creating each resource. They range from ‘An Overview of the Bible’ to ‘The Life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer’!
The website also offers activity ideas, discussion questions, and full lesson plans. RE:QUEST is affiliated with Youth for Christ, and you can clearly see the passion for young people having the gospel of Jesus Christ shared clearly with them.
Looking through the many resources, it seems that there are activities, discussion questions and lesson plans for most of the questions your students would ask of Christianity and God. In a world where education seems to have a one-track mind, RE:QUEST are opening the door to thinking through faith and questioning what life is really about.
