Tim Challies (see photo) began this website in 2002 and has been writing daily since 2003. He thinks out loud and in public while also sharing some of the interesting things he’s discovered in his online and real-world travels.

Challies is a Canadian Reformed Baptist theologian, pastor, blogger, and author.

I’ve enjoyed Challies’ reviews and writings for a few years. His blogs tend to be short and sweet, and his reviews are thorough.

I read his latest blog ‘Daddy, I Need You’. What starts as a conversation between two men of different faiths, turns into a reflection on the compassion of God. Challies quotes Jesus’ famous words: ‘Who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?’

Challies has a weekday feature called ‘A la Carte’, as well as ‘Weekend A la Carte’, which include lists of Kindle deals for Christian books. Also, he includes links to other blogs that comment on current Christian affairs, events and ‘tough’ questions.

Challies is Reformed. Every article, review and blog I have read from him has been theologically sound.

He also suffered the bereavement of a son within the last couple of years, has written a book Season of Sorrows, and often speaks of grief, suffering and sorrow.
