In each episode, Mark Meynell meets someone who has been impacted by John Stott’s legacy. Each episode also has a book review from a second guest who discusses the influence of the book on their life.

In Episode #1, Meynell’s guest is Gottfried Osei-Mensah, with a book review by Ed Veale. Osei-Mensah grew up in Ghana and, after studying in the UK, returned, soon becoming the pastor of Nairobi Baptist Church, Kenya. He became Director of an international movement created by Stott and Billy Graham. Ed Veale is a law lecturer who is studying at Oakhill Theology College for ministry with the Church of England.

The podcast begins with an introduction (this is the premiere episode) and then looks at the early life of Osei-Mensah. His first-hand accounts of outings with Stott and the wisdom of life lessons passed down, give a heart-warming and friendly element to the conversation.

The podcast is set up in a way that it dips in and out of what must have been a much longer conversation between Meynell and Osei-Mensah as there are frequently narrated soundbites.

The conversation is interrupted by a review of Stott’s The Incomparable Christ. The book is based on a series of lectures on contemporary Christianity given by Stott at All Souls Langham Place. This is a succinct, helpful review for anyone looking to start reading any of Stott’s material.

At the end of each episode, Meynell requests prayer for the distributor of the podcast, Langham Partnership.

I do not doubt, as this podcast gets off the ground, that there will be many insightful and warm conversations about John Stott and his legacy.
