There’s a plaque at the OMF headquarters in Sevenoaks listing the men, women and children who died ‘for Christ’s sake during the anti-foreign outbreak 1900’. This book paints a vivid picture of the kind of suffering our recent forefathers endured.

The Rev. Archibald E. Glover was a curate at the bustling St. Paul’s, Onslow Square, London, when he responded to the call to go to China as a missionary. He left behind his pregnant wife and their six-month-old son. They joined him a year or so later.
