140th anniversary of the Cambridge Seven's mission to China
This year marks the 140th anniversary of the Cambridge Seven sailing for China in February 1885.
The OMF website explains: “This group of seven Christians from Britain caught the imagination of the church and the nation as they gave up riches, fame and comfortable lives to go and share the good news of Jesus in China through the China Inland Mission (CIM), now OMF International.
World: all singing!
On 21 February, an estimated 1.1 million
people in 100 countries joined together to
sing ‘Facing a Task Unfinished’, a 90-year-old hymn that has been updated by Keith
and Kristyn Getty.
Over 5,400 churches on six continents – in
countries
including
Bahrain, Australia, Bangladesh and China, and in dozens of cities
including Tokyo, Hong Kong, New York,
London, Singapore and Los Angeles – participated in the day of song in one of the largest
modern-day calls for world-wide evangelism.
This global movement of churches was
organised by OMF International.
