Theopedia
www.theopedia.com

Theopedia is an encyclopedia of Biblical Christianity. I first came across it when I Googled the definition of a Biblical term whilst writing a paper on Revelation for a theology course I was taking. Since then, I had been an avid user.

Essentially, Theopedia is the Wikipedia of Biblical Christianity. The main difference, however, is that Theopedia is not able to be edited by any internet user.

There is little-to-no information out there to determine who runs this encyclopedia, what denomination they are or what church they are affiliated with. I guess, as long as the information is theologically sound, it doesn’t really matter. The only geographical information I’ve found on the source of Theopedia is that the server is based in America. But that doesn’t necessarily mean the contributors and writers are, in fact, American.

You can search just about anything Biblical on their website. From information on the virgin birth to the definition of the multiple heresies that plague churches across the world.

The website is super easy to use. On the homepage there is a long list of categories and subcategories to choose from. However, I always find I’m searching for something in particular. And their search bar is great. As soon as you start typing a list of potential terms and categories will pop up. And if you type in a search word that is linked directly to a page, i.e. ‘Creation’, you will be instantly taken to all the information they hold on Creation. Like Wikipedia, Theopedia also has many internal and external links to more information on a subject.

This website is informative, exhaustive and easy to use. Highly recommended for theological study or just the interested church-goer alike.
