  • Abortion defeat

    SPUC

A proposed amendment , NC50, to the Health and Care Bill, which would effectively have decriminalised abortion up to 24 weeks in England and Wales, has failed in parliament.

Had the proposed amendment passed, pregnant women would have been allowed to abort their own child in any way for any reason. SPUC Executive Director Michael Robinson said: ‘Many MPs have received the message loud and clear that we will not tolerate such extreme and barbaric practices.’
