STORIES TO TELL:
www.youtube.com /heathevangelicalchurch/live
Over three months (which started at the end of October 2021) Heath Evangelical Church, Cardiff is interviewing missionaries, ministers and church leaders to hear the stories they have to tell.
In the episode I watched for this review, the presenter does not introduce himself, but introduces his guest, Michael Toogood. Toogood is a retired church planter/ evangelist, and gives a detailed account of his childhood, national service and his ministry; only stopping when questions are asked from one of the two interviewers.
Toogood is a well-spoken and articulate man. So it comes as a shock when he reveals he had little to no education growing up!
Toogood’s fervour for his anecdotes and testimony of what God has done and how God has used him are heartwarming. Born in Kent, Toogood wrote a book Mission to Soho: Where Two Worlds Meet, about his church planting/evangelistic days in Soho, London. From handing out flyers, to door-to-door evangelism, Toogood has seen it all!
The interviewers’ last question was about those who Toogood had encountered and given their lives to Jesus. I won’t spoil the story, but it is a turbulent one of abuse and God’s grace!
If the following interviews follow the same vein, this series should make for spirit-lifting, heart-warming viewing.
