At Break of Day

At Break of Day
By Fred Mitchell
Christian Focus Publications. 372 pages

This book is a day-by-day devotional help written by the late Fred Mitchell, the OMF Home Director who died in the world's first Comet air crash in 1953. It is full of choice spiritual reflections on the Word of God, and it breathes the spirituality of the man.
My wife and I have been using it and finding it a great help and encouragement. It is highly recommended. Fred Mitchell followed the noble band of missionary statesmen who were indeed leaders of evangelicalism in our country in a past generation.
Fortunate were those missionaries who had such a man as their mentor and help. There are not many books where the reader would have liked to have known the author, but here is one. He lives on in these spiritual observations. My only quibble is the absence of an index.
